Dr. Gary Rogers joined the University of Tennessee in October 2005 as chief financial officer. In the position, he oversees all financial functions of the university system.
He formerly was vice president for administration, finance, and human resources at West Virginia University. Prior to that, Rogers was director of financial accounting and reporting in the Oregon University System.
He is a member of the National Association of College and University Business Officers, the National Conference on College Cost Accounting, and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Rogers has a doctorate in English from Texas Christian University and a bachelor's degree in accounting from Oklahoma State University. He is a certified public accountant.
He lives in the Knoxville suburb of Farragut.
